A Business Review includes a detailed analysis of where you are as an organization and it lays out the framework for preliminary avenues of growth. It is built on internal and external research to understand the current business and identify opportunities for the future.

Internal research includes reviewing profit & loss statements, sales trends and listening to feedback from key areas of the organization: operations, logistics, finance, sales and marketing. If you think these departments don’t exist in your company, think again. Whether well defined or a small organization, all of these functions are happening and we can help you sort through the ‘stuff’ and find out what’s working and what isn’t.

External research can include talking to your suppliers, to your customers and listen to them on what they think is working and not working. Most often they see something that you have been either missing or have been too busy to notice. It also includes a preliminary assessment of the marketplace: category trends, distribution channels, and key competitors. And finally, there is the end customer. Budget allowing, we can set-up sessions to understand what the consumer thinks of your products and how we can bring that back in to your communication or into the product itself.

An example of the contents of a Business Review is:

1. Executive Summary
2. Company Background
3. Products / Services Overview
4. The Industry, Competition and Market
5. Avenues of Growth

The Business Review is the building block to defining your strategic platform and prioritizes opportunities. The strategic platform is what defines who you want to be and where do you want to go and is an essential piece of a
Business Plan and a Marketing Plan.
